Portugal FC Look to Continue Winning Streak

Portugal FC look for their fourth consecutive victory as international division rivals Toronto Croatia visit Lamport Stadium.

Portugal FC will be looking to build on their 3 game winning streak as they take on the only team that has beaten them thus far, Toronto Croatia. Last weekend, Portugal FC was victorious in a 4-0 defeat of the North York Astros. With goals from Danny Amaral and Mike Aigbokie (two) as well as a North York own goal, Portugal FC was able to win their third consecutive game and stay unbeaten at Lamport Stadium. The win vaulted Portugal FC to third place in the international division ahead of Serbia White Eagles. Portugal FC will have their sights set on 2nd place in the division this Friday night when they take on Toronto Croatia.

On May 23, Portugal FC opened their 2008 campaign with a 1-0 loss at the hands of Toronto Croatia. Following this loss Portugal has won 3 consecutive games. It was a hard fought game with both sides gathering many chances to accumulate more goals. Ultimately it was Croatian forward, Tihomir Maletic who was the only one who could crack the score sheet and enabled Toronto Croatia to win their first game of the campaign.

Portugal FC has put the match a month ago clear in its rearview mirror and have begun to build momentum into the 2008 campaign. Portugal FC will look to remain unblemished at Lamport Stadium as Toronto Croatia come to town. Although it is still early, with a victory, Portugal FC would climb into second place and could have their sights on Italia Shooters. Portugal FC have allowed the fewest goals in the CSL thus far this season, and will look to translate the excellent defensive prowess that they have showed into a fourth consecutive victory and a 3-0 home start to the season.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8:00pm on Friday night between the two international division rivals. For Tickets ($10) call 905-564-4660.
